Caravan Coffee Roasters -The Daily

“Notes of dark chocolate and peanut brittle, with a chewy body and supporting flavours of baking baking spice and muscavado sugar”

This review of Caravan Coffee Roasters - The Daily, are my own comments and overview of this bean, The coffee was purchased by myself from their website.
As it arrived at my door
First Impressions
I'm not going to lie this is the second lot of Caravan Coffee Roasters - The Daily I have had. The first batch of beans were kindly gifted at Christmas by members of my family. However they were so good the first time I didn't get a chance to take images and write a review as it was gone within a week.

So as you can see from the image above the beans were sent through the post in a stylish branded box first class, you could instantly smell the beans through the box, if I was the postman I'd be smelling these all the way through my round (I did leave the box to sit for a few days just incase he did, COVID - 19 compliant)

This branding makes you instantly adore this company!
On opening the box, Caravan Coffee Roasters branding was evident throughout. The information card, the tissue paper wrapping even down to the sticker holding together the paper was awesome!

Roasters Description
The description which is taken from the roasters themselves on the inserted information card.

"The Daily Blend’s flavour profile is crafted with approachability and versatility in mind, created for all-day drinking and for perfect expression in milk. To achieve this, our Head of Coffee selects fresh, in-season lots from around the globe, combining their unique flavour elements to construct the Daily’s signature profile of dark chocolate, chewy praline, and warm spices. Before it winds up in your cup, each component is rigorously tested through a series of blind tasting sessions, where our buyers, roasters, and quality control team ensure that consistency and quality meet our exacting standards for a delicious brew."

"Our latest version of the Daily Blend welcomes some slightly warmer flavours as we enter the colder months, supported by the addition of a fresh crop Colombian lot from our producer partners in Risaralda. This coffee was sourced by Raw Material, a social enterprise importer and long-term partner of Caravan, whose work on the ground in Colombia is helping bring greater economic freedom and market access to smallholder producers. The foundation of the Daily Blend hails from Brazil, via a blend of farms in the Mantiqueira de Minas region. This region has some of the highest altitudes in southern Brazil, making for exceptionally sweet and clean coffees. Supporting flavours of nougat and spice come from the Sumatra Blue Toba, grown on the slopes of Lake Toba, the largest volcanic lake in the world."
Brewing Guide

The beans are of lighter roast with a prominent smell. I keep my grind to the usual pointer of 0 on my Eureka Mignon. I try to keep this consistent throughout my beans. I usually dial in after the first cup but these are perfect at this point.

First Cup
(Naked Porta-filter Double Shot)
Well this should be titled second bag really, However I still remember my first taste of this coffee blend. I was instantly blown away by my taste buds. The coffee with milk as a flat white was clean, crisp and totally refreshing. after that first cup I instantly wanted another.
The Daily by Caravan Coffee Roasters a fantastic coffee for any home barista.

Second Cup
(Naked Porta-filter Double Shot)
I treated myself to an espresso, to get the feel of the notes, The dark chocolate and Muscavado sugar is prominent in the smell and taste. The bean provides a great crema.
This certainly hits the spot.

Third Cup + Beyond
A clean cup of coffee that is enjoyed throughout the day and will have you wanting more.

Would I recommend?
Yes,Yes,Yes! Caravan Coffee Roasters are a little more expensive (£9.50 250g) than other roasters but the quality and taste is completely worth it.
I'm looking forward to trying others from this roaster.
